If you are having one of those dull days and need a quick pick me up then this bakery-style Chunky Chocolate Chip and Walnut Cookies will definitely do the job! These cookies are super easy to bake and only take 10 minutes if you have all the ingredients at hand. I have just made half the recipe for the post and often only make half the portion at home unless I am having guests over as these disappear pretty fast.
I used to watch a lot of reality cooking shows and this particular recipe from Erika Cline who was competing in the 2010 Top Chef Series. She was eventually eliminated but when she made this cookie, I could basically taste it through the TV screen and have been making this since then. So thank you Erika for sharing your recipe!
This has been one of my favourite cookies and this often reminds me of the chunky cookies you see being sold at the bakery. But be warned, these are super moreish, delish and absolutely rich. If you are making this, please do not make it if you are home alone…you will end up eating all of them in one go!

Here’s the youtube video showing how to make this yummy Chunky Cookie.

Ingredients
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ lb butter (250g)
- 2 ½ cup all purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnut, roughly chopped
- pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar together till light

2. Beat in egg and vanilla.

3. Mix in salt, baking soda, baking powder and flour till well combined.

4. Next add in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips till just combined

5. Use an ice-cream scoop (roughly 1/4 cup) and drop dough portions on to baking tray (I have buttered my tray, feel free to line yours). Cookies will spread so make sure you leave enough space in between.

6. Bake for roughly 170 C for 10-12 min. Watch closely towards the end so the cookies don't get too dark

Notes
Note: Cookie dough will spread out, so chill dough if possible if you live in a hot climate. Use ice-cream scoop to measure. I made half position for this post, which made 12 cookies.

Love walnuts. I eat them almost daily! Haven’t used them in a cookie recipe before so will be sure to try them next time I make cookies
You would totally love it as the walnut just elevates the cookie’s flavour
You can’t beat a good chocolate chip cookie and the addition of walnuts sounds yummy x
Absolutely! You can’t go wrong with this cookie mix
These look amazing, will give them a go although my cookies always turn out too hard haha
Just follow my instructions and it won’t turn hard as the temperature is low to bake this and don’t bake it for too long
Yes please!! Nice cup of tea and one of these once the kids are in bed would be my perfect night . They look delicious
They are super delish indeed, trust me… and perfect with a cuppa too!
These cookies look amazing! The kids have been baking a bit recently so would definitely love to make these!
How wonderful! Thanks for sharing that
Thanks for sharing this recipe, I actually have been thinking of what to bake this weekend and I can give these a try.
Hope you did Anosa
As I was making these I realized the instructions say to mix in the salt… there is no salt listed in the ingredients…
It is a pinch of salt as I cook tend to bake with unsalted butter. If you use salted butter, you can omit the salt.
