Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Here’s wishing all our readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  My post is a few day’s late but that is because I wanted to share some of the food we made on Christmas Day. We tend to have our Portuguese Chicken Pie on Christmas Eve and Roast Turkey on Christmas day followed by all the cookies, cakes and cheeseboard.  This year has been so different as well as unique as we have not had anyone come to our home to share with the celebration. Hence I guess there has been a lot of firsts…. I can’t believe that I actually started the food blog after all these years of wanting to. I guess the fear of being judged, as everyone is a food critic in my house! As well as sharing family secret recipes did make me feel a little apprehensive. But I am glad I have, I hope you have enjoyed the last few months of reading my blog and feel free to share your thoughts if you do try out these recipes. I love food and for me, it reminds me of home, my family and of love. Cooking food for others is such a wonderful act of love and more people should make time to do it.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

I love indulging in the different variety of cheese and UK is blessed with such a wonderful variety of it.  This year my cheeseboard was smaller than past years, as I did not manage to get a couple of my favourite cheese such as the Pear and Whiskey cheese due to Covid.  Nevertheless, this was enough for our family.  My children enjoy sampling the different cheese with biscuits and it is a great light snack to have if you have had a heavy meal the day before or this can also be a savoury dessert.  Stay blessed everyone, thank you for your support in reading the blog and looking forward to a better 2021 and sharing of more recipes.

How amazing does your Christmas spread look! Love the table cloth too. I need to get a Christmas one like that for next year. My brother did the cooking this year so it turned out great. What are the hearts on the cheese board? crackers? I am getting hungry looking at it all!

Yes the hearts are crackers and thank you for your kind words. Mum is living across the continent, so I do all the cooking
